About Leibase

Leibase is an independent directory of the global Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) system. Every legal entity with an LEI gets a page carrying its full reference data, corporate ownership relationships, associated securities, and a timeline of every recorded change.

The underlying reference data is published by the Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF) under a CC0 licence. We are not affiliated with GLEIF, and we never invent data: a field that GLEIF does not report renders as “Not reported”. Always confirm details against the official source.

What GLEIF does not keep is history: when a value changes, the previous one is gone. We persist every change, so Leibase is also an archive of how entities, ownership and status have evolved over time.
